The captain has been killed and three crew members have been injured in a Russian drone attack on a civilian vessel flying the Tanzanian flag as it headed for a Ukrainian port.

The ministry pointed out that Russia is relentlessly attacking Ukrainian ports, port infrastructure facilities and civilian merchant vessels, posing a threat to international shipping in the Black Sea.

Background: In July, Russian missiles hit the cargo vessel Golden Leo near the port of Odesa. Nine crew members and a Ukrainian sea pilot were killed at the time, with eight sailors rescued.
