Russian forces attacked Kyiv's Podilskyi district with an attack drone on the evening of 16 September, causing fires and injuring one man.

Quote from Klitschko: "One man has been injured in a drone attack on the capital in the evening. A non-residential building in the Podilskyi district has been hit. The man has been hospitalised."

Details: At 21:57, the Air Force warned Kyiv residents of a threat from a jet-powered drone heading towards the central part of the city.

The air-raid warning in the capital was in effect from 21:56 to 22:10. At around 22:10, an explosion was heard.

Background:

  • On the night of 15-16 September and in the morning, Russian forces attacked Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast with jet-powered and other drones. Warehouses in the Sviatoshynskyi district caught fire after drone debris fell on them and one person was injured.
  • On the night of 16-17 September, Russian forces attacked Kyiv with missiles and UAVs. Twenty people were injured, including two children.
  • Residential buildings, educational institutions, offices, a petrol station, warehouses, cars and railway infrastructure facilities were also damaged.
  • Over the previous day, Russian drones damaged 17 sites in five districts of Kyiv Oblast, including houses, cars and industrial premises.
