Russia attacks Ukraine with 93 UAVs, 72 downed

Russian forces have attacked Ukraine with 93 drones of various types since the evening of 17 September. Air defence has destroyed 72 UAVs, while hits have been recorded at 13 locations.

Quote: "As of 08:00, [Ukrainian] air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 69 Shahed, Gerbera and other types of drones as well as three Banderol/Dan-T drone missiles. Hits by aerial assets have been recorded at 13 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at three locations."

Details: The Air Force also noted that some of the aerial assets did not reach their targets.

The drones were launched from the Russian cities of Oryol and Millerovo as well as temporarily occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in Crimea.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

As of 08:00, the attack is ongoing, with several Russian UAVs still in Ukrainian airspace.
