Details: Koretskyi also said Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Czechia, Austria and Serbia together form an economy linked by shared production chains, energy systems, transport routes and ties between regions and local communities.
He said the format should focus investment on three areas:
- developing trade and mutual investment
- attracting major international capital through joint regional investment platforms
- involving C8 countries in Ukraine's recovery as a shared economic project for the entire region
Background: At the first Carpathian Economic Forum, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the countries in the Carpathian region have significant potential for cooperation in the energy sector and that the Carpathians could become a supplier of electricity to the EU, helping ensure energy independence from Russia.
