Russian ballistic missiles completely destroy oil and gas facility in Poltava Oblast

Russian forces attacked an oil and gas facility in Poltava Oblast with ballistic missiles on the night of 22-22 September, causing critical damage.

Details: The facility has already been hit by Russian forces dozens of times with both drones and missiles.

At least five missiles struck technological facilities during the attack, which had already been shut down and out of operation for a long time.

The damage caused by the strike has effectively made it impossible to repair and operate the facility.

Background:

• Since the beginning of 2026, Russian forces have attacked Naftogaz facilities more than 250 times.
• In late August, Ukraine accumulated the gas needed for the baseline scenario for getting through the winter, First Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal said.
