Zelenskyy: We need peace before AI starts making battlefield decisions

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called on world leaders to curb the rapid development of lethal weapons which have allowed the Russia-Ukraine war to go as far as it has.

Quote: "As early as next year, there is already a real possibility that AI, not only people, will begin to decide what happens on the battlefield. We need peace before we reach that point."

Details: Zelenskyy stressed that humanity needs to end all wars and be at peace by the time artificial intelligence moves "from the digital world to shaping atoms".

Background: In the same address, Zelenskyy called Russian leader Vladimir Putin "patient zero" who is spreading the idea of war around the world.
