Russia attacks Ukraine with 170 drones overnight; 147 of them downed

Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 170 strike UAVs of various types on the night of 26-27 September. Ukrainian air defence downed 147 targets, but some strikes were recorded as well.

Quote: "The enemy attacked Ukraine with 170 Shahed-type strike UAVs (76 of them jet-powered), Gerbera drones and Parodiya-type decoy drones on the night of 26-27 September (starting from 18:00 on 26 September)."

Details: Early reports indicate that as of 07:30, air defence forces had shot down or jammed 147 Russian UAVs. Russian aerial attack assets struck 18 locations, while downed targets or their debris fell at eight locations.

The Russians launched the drones from the areas of the Russian cities of Oryol, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Shatalovo, as well as the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk and temporarily occupied Crimea.

The aerial attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's defence forces.

As of the morning of 27 September, the Russian attack was ongoing, with several Russian UAVs still in Ukrainian airspace.
