Metro will not run across Pivdennyi Bridge pending expert opinion, Kyiv mayor says
The Kyiv Metro is ready to resume running trains across the Pivdennyi (South) Bridge during yellow air-raid warnings, which indicate a drone threat, but only after receiving an expert opinion on its condition.
Source: Vitali Klitschko, Mayor of Kyiv, following a meeting of the capital's Defence Council
Details: The expert opinions will need to be provided by the scientific institutes contacted by the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development. Klitschko did not name any specific dates.
In addition, the Defence Council considered the issue of traffic across other bridges over the Dnipro River in Kyiv. Klitschko did not disclose the approved proposals but wrote that they would be passed on to the central government.
Quote from Klitschko: "Kyiv will stand! But only through the joint efforts of those who love it, who care about it. By understanding all the challenges and being ready to overcome them. Overcoming them like adults, not wearing rose-tinted glasses."
