President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that Ukraine is willing to participate in a technical-level trilateral meeting with Russia and the United States, which the US has proposed should take place by the end of October.

Details: Media reports previously indicated that representatives from the US, Ukraine and Russia might meet in October in Abu Dhabi to discuss the possibility of a partial ceasefire, specifically a mutual agreement to refrain from strikes on energy infrastructure.
Zelenskyy was asked to comment on this potential opportunity.
Quote: "I cannot [share – ed.] all the details. Yesterday, for example, I spoke with the negotiation team, the American team. The American side is currently in contact with Ukraine and Russia, proposing that a meeting be held in some form at the technical level in a trilateral format by the end of October."
Details: Zelenskyy noted that on 3 October he confirmed that Ukraine is willing to take part in such a meeting before the end of October.
Quote: "There is no new information here. We are open to the United Arab Emirates or another country proposed by the American side. I know they will propose this to the Russian side as well or perhaps they already have – I don't know the exact order of actions. So we will wait for their response."
Background:
- Türkiye and the United Nations are arranging new talks between Russia and Ukraine to discuss a Black Sea ceasefire in an attempt to bring together scattered efforts to protect grain shipments amid soaring global food prices.
- As previously reported by European Pravda, US President Donald Trump stated that he asked Zelenskyy to slow down the pace of strikes on Russian oil refineries and that Zelenskyy allegedly agreed.
- Zelenskyy had earlier stated that during a private meeting with the US president, there were no attempts to force Ukraine to cease attacks on oil refineries and other facilities of that nature.
- US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington will try to secure an energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, although he acknowledged that doing so would be difficult.
