Ukraine's air defence downs 172 out of 205 Russian drones, attack is ongoing

Russian forces have attacked Ukraine with 205 drones of various types since the evening of 4 October. Air defence forces have managed to down 172 UAVs, although hits have been recorded. The attack is ongoing.

Quote: "As of 08:00, [Ukrainian] air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 172 Shahed, Gerbera and other types of drones. Hits by aerial assets have been recorded at 13 locations and downed aerial assets (debris) landed at three locations."
Details: The drones were launched from the Russian cities of Oryol, Kursk, Shatalovo, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk as well as from the temporarily occupied cities of Donetsk and Hvardiiske (in Crimea). A quarter of the UAVs (49) were jet-powered.
Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.
As of 08:00, the attack was ongoing, as several Russian drones were still in Ukrainian airspace.
