The Russians attacked Ukraine with 142 combat drones, 82 of which were jet-powered, on the night of 7-8 October. Early reports indicate that the Ukrainian Air Force has brought down 126 drones.

Quote: "On the night of 7-8 October (from 18:00 on 07 October), the enemy attacked [Ukraine] with 142 Shahed-type attack drones (82 of which were jet-powered), Gerbera UAVs and Parodiya-type decoy drones from the following areas: Oryol, Kursk and Shatalovo, Russia, and occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea."

Early reports indicate that as of 09:30, air defence had intercepted 126 enemy Shahed-type UAVs, Gerbera and drones of other types."

Details: Hits were recorded at seven locations and intercepted aerial assets (debris) fell at four locations.

The aerial attack is being repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces.
