Annual inflation in Ukraine rises to 10%

Consumer prices in Ukraine rose by 2.1% in September compared with August and by 10% year on year.

Details: Core inflation stood at 2% compared with August 2026 and 8.8% compared with September 2025.
Prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 1.9%. Eggs saw the sharpest increase, rising by 43.6%.
Prices for sugar, rice, grain products, milk, non-alcoholic beverages, fish and fish products, sunflower oil, meat and meat products rose by between 1.7% and 8.3%.
Meanwhile, fruit and vegetable prices fell by 5.7% and 2.3% respectively.
Clothing and footwear prices rose by 8.5%, with clothing up by 9.4% and footwear by 7.6%.
Prices for housing, water, electricity, gas and other household fuels rose by 0.8%, mainly due to increases in water supply tariffs (5.6%) and sewerage tariffs (5.5%).
Healthcare prices rose by 1.7%, primarily due to a 2.6% increase in medicine prices.
In addition, fuel and lubricant prices rose by 5.2% in September, while fares for road passenger transport increased by 2.5%.
Finally, education services became 17.4% more expensive, with prices for higher education rising by 23.3% and secondary education by 14.3%.
Background: In September, the National Bank of Ukraine decided to raise its key policy rate to 16% amid mounting inflationary pressures.
