Details: Muzychuk explained that the training of foreign nationals and stateless persons joining Ukraine's National Guard is conducted in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 768 dated 12 June 2026 and an order issued by the National Guard commander approving the basic military training programme for this category of service personnel.

Under the programme, the duration of basic military training is 51 days.

The shortened basic military training course, an intensive programme, may only be offered to candidates who have previously served in the armed forces or law enforcement agencies of other countries. They must have expressed a wish to take the intensive course and have provided documentation confirming their service.

Before being accepted for the intensive course, candidates must undergo an initial assessment to evaluate their existing knowledge and practical skills.

Only those who pass the assessment may take the 14-day intensive basic military training course.

After completing basic military training, all service personnel undergo an adaptation course lasting up to 14 days, following a programme designed to prepare and further train them for combat operations.

The duration and content of the training are determined by the established requirements and the service personnel's level of preparedness. This is essential to ensure they are ready to carry out combat missions, Muzychuk said.
