Biletskyi explains why he turned down role of Ukrainian Ground Forces commander

Andrii Biletskyi, Commander of the 3rd Army Corps, has said he turned down an offer to become commander of the Ground Forces because he believes that in this role, he would need to improve the situation regarding mobilisation, which is a difficult task.

Quote: "Yes, I was offered command of the Ground Forces to carry out reforms. The role involves two key tasks: combat training and mobilisation.
I believe combat training can be reformed.
In the fifth year of the war, mobilisation can be improved and abuses can be eliminated. But it cannot be replaced. And this is a key task for the Ground Forces. There is no point taking on something you do not genuinely believe you can improve."
Details: Biletskyi also believes he will be more effective in a direct, hands-on command role.
Quote: "The commander of the Ground Forces is probably the most difficult position in the entire Armed Forces. I certainly do not envy the current commander, nor did I envy his predecessor, and I sincerely wish them every success. But I do not see myself in that role."
