Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes Russia will not dare to use nuclear weapons because it would lose all its allies and set a dangerous precedent for the further use of such weapons in other conflicts.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "It occurs to everyone that they [the Russians – ed.] could do something even worse. But I don't think they will risk using nuclear weapons. Because then, I am convinced, they would have no allies left, including countries such as the United States and China."

Details: Zelenskyy noted that using nuclear weapons even once would set a dangerous precedent for nuclear-armed countries and other conflicts around the world.

"What I mean is that if one country can do this, then in the event of a conflict somewhere else – on another continent, I don't know, for example, in the Middle East – it would mean that if nuclear weapons had been used once, they could be used a second or third time," he said.

The president reiterated that he does not believe Putin would take such a step.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "I don't think Putin will risk using nuclear weapons. But, again, we are dealing with a person and a system that will cling to him until the end of his days, and he will cling to it, because only when his life ends will he leave the Kremlin and physically hand over power, naturally. I am more than certain of this."
