Details: The roadmaps for Ukraine and Moldova are not expected to specify dates by which the countries must complete their EU accession negotiations.
"At present, no dates are planned for Ukraine and Moldova for the possible conclusion of EU accession negotiations," a source told European Pravda.
Another source said that approaches to drawing up the roadmaps could change in the week before the enlargement package is published, meaning that "no version can currently be considered final".
Background:
- The European Commission plans to present its enlargement package on 4 November.
- Information obtained by European Pravda contradicts a report circulated by the media claiming that Ukraine's EU accession roadmap envisages the conclusion of negotiations by the end of 2029.
- In July, Taras Kachka, then deputy prime minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration, said Ukraine planned to complete the reforms required for EU accession by the end of 2027.
- Moldova wants to conclude its accession negotiations by 2028 and join the EU in 2030.
