Three People Killed in Explosion at Ukroboronprom Site

An explosion took place at the test station of the state research institute for chemical products of Ukroboronprom [En: Ukrainian Military Industries] in Sumy oblast on Thursday, July 28, the Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Central Region reports.

"According to the preliminary information, the explosion happened during the unloading of ammunition brought in for utilization. Three people died, and two more were injured in the explosion."

The acting military prosecutor of Sumy oblast Oleksiy Liashenko said on 112 Ukrayina that the explosion might have been caused by negligence, Interfax Ukraine reports. Ukroboronprom created a special commission to investigate the accident, which includes representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office and National Police.
