Magnitude 4.6 Earthquake in Donetsk Oblast

A magnitude 4.6 earthquake affected the south of Donetsk Oblast on the morning of August 7, the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) is cited by Interfax-Ukraine.

According to their report, the earthquake epicenter was 78 km to the south from Donetsk and 21 km to the north of Staryi Krym village near Mariupol, its depth was about 10 km.

The ATO Staff press office informed that the earthquake was felt the most in Mariupol. "No shelling was documented in this area today," the press office added

Social media users from Mariupol told that the earthquake was clearly felt all around the city. So far, there is not information about any damage, but trembling walls and faltering furniture in houses were reported.

The significant earthquake vibrations were also reported on social media by users from Donetsk, Mariinka, Volnovakha (Donetsk Oblast), Zaporizhia, Berdiansk, Melitopol (Zaporizhia Oblast), Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih and Kropyvnytskyi.
