Russian propaganda made a fake video about a jubilant meeting of Russian invading forces in Melitopol

Russian channels showed a staged video in Melitopol that claimed to show Russia's invading forces being joyously met by city residents. In reality, people met the aggressors with Ukrainian flags, shouting "Go home!"

During filming, the armed troops did not allow anyone near to the 'set'. What sort of boxes with canned food were in the trucks remains unclear. The [Russian forces'] camera operator filmed a staged video, and the trucks left.


Details: Zaporizhzhya Military State Administration noted that city residents took to the streets with Ukrainian flags for a peaceful rally. Russian forces began shooting, with casualties among the civilian population. The statement also quotes the city mayor, Ivan Fedorov, as saying, "Melitopol was, is and will be a Ukrainian town".
