Near Chernihiv, Russian troops fired on people leaving the city, killing some and injuring others.

Details: The head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration Vyacheslav Chaus confirmed to Suspilne reports of the shelling of civilians evacuating Chernihiv.

Civilians leaving the city on foot were shelled– there are dead and wounded.

The information about the victims was made public by the mayor of Koryukivka Ratan Akhmedov and the mayor of Mena Gennady Primakov.

According to Primakov, a girl from Mena was killed. Another four people from Mena have non-life-threatening injuries, and are now in the hospital. Civilians from Snovsk and Koryukivka were also injured.

Today we have a dead girl who, along with other people, was getting out of the city of Chernihiv in the direction of Kulykivka, when the Russians shot a column of civilians from tanks. There are victims from Koryukivka and Snovsk, four of our people with non life-threatening injuries are in the hospital now.

Akhmedov clarified that a young man who was going to Koryukivka with his mother had died.

As the mayor of Novgorod-Siversky, Lyudmila Tkachenko, told Suspilne, a 19-year-old boy from their community died.

Injured people were taken to Kulykiv Hospital.

As Serhiy Vasylyna, the head of the regional prosecutor's office, told Suspilne, he will announce all the details about the circumstances of the incident, the number of dead and injured, on the morning of March 10.
