OSCE Special Monitoring Mission banned in Donetsk People's Republic

The so-called "Donetsk People's Republic" has declared the activities of the Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) to be illegal, and is demanding that representatives of the Mission leave the territory of the so-called republic by April 30.

SMM employees must relocate the organisation's property and meet all its financial obligations within the territory of Donetsk People's Republic by April 30.

Background: A local resident who worked for OSCE SMM was detained in the Donetsk People's Republic for "activities incompatible with the mission's mandate" the day before.
