Tractor driver triggers a landmine in Chernihiv region: sustains leg injuries

A man driving a tractor in the Chernihiv region triggered an enemy landmine and was injured in the leg.

Literally: "On May 9 at around 12:00 the operational coordination centre of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine of the region received a report that in the forest in the Chernihiv district, a tractor had run over an explosive device, as a result of which an explosion occurred. The driver was injured in the leg and was taken to the Chernihiv Regional Hospital. "

Details: Bomb disposal experts from the State Emergency Service inspected the area and found no other explosive materials.

The press service of the State Emergency Service reminded residents that it is dangerous to drive onto the roadside and to move about in unchecked reservoirs, forests or fields.

Background:

  •         On 17 May, a farmer driving a tractor through a field near Makarov in Kyiv came across two enemy landmines.
  •         On May 8, a resident of Kyiv region died in the forest near the village of Zalissia, injured by an undetected enemy mine.
