Details: Deputy commander of the Azov Regiment Sviatoslav Palamar (known as "Kalyna") said in remarks to Ukrainska Pravda that the Russian invaders began to storm the Azovstal plant on Tuesday.

This information was confirmed by the adviser to the mayor, who showed a video of the attack.

Direct quote: "Footage of the attempted assault. At least one occupant is definitely known to have been turned into fertiliser. And one is still alive but has every chance of listening to Kobzon [a Soviet and Russian singer who died in 2018] in person.

Glory to the Heroic Defenders of Mariupol – to Azov, the 36th [marine brigade], the patrol police, the border guards and all those who are bringing our victory closer!"

Details: Andriushchenko added that the occupiers deported 149 people, including 22 children, from Mariupol to Russia on 3 May.

"On the one hand we are seeing a decreasing trend in the number of deportees per day, on the other hand the slowdown in the deportation rate is primarily due to the strengthening of the ‘filtration’ procedure. No comment," said the advisor to the mayor.

Reminder:

Secretary of State Antony Blinken is convinced that journalists can bring closer the evacuation of civilians and military personnel trapped in the bunkers of the Azovstal plant by constantly reminding their audiences of the atrocities and crimes committed by Russian occupation forces in Mariupol.
