General Staff Synopsis: Russians continue to besiege Azovstal, assault renewed

Russians continue to besiege Defence Forces units around Azovstal in Mariupol, and in some areas they have resumed an air-supported assault to take control of the plant.

Details: The invaders have not taken any active action on the Volyn and Polissia fronts. Units of the Belarusian Armed Forces have been checking the combat readiness of their reaction forces.

No signs of the formation of a Russian offensive group have been detected on the Siverskyi front. In the Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions a small number of personnel, weapons and military equipment are held at their positions and strongpoints.

There was no active aggressor activity on the Slobozhanskyi front. Russian forces continue shelling residential areas and suburbs of Kharkiv with both rocket-propelled grenades and artillery. The invader continues to increase its air defences, logistical support and fire attacks. It is regrouping and re-establishing the combat effectiveness of its units.

There are up to 300 wounded in the hospital set up by the invaders at Kupiansk city hospital.

The aggressor is carrying out aerial reconnaissance to ascertain the positions of our troops and directions of further advancement.

On the Donetsk and Tavriia fronts, Russian forces continue to conduct active combat operations, while on the Lyman front, the invader is shelling Ukrainian positions.

On the Popasna front, the aggressor has focused its main efforts on establishing full control over Popasna and resuming its offensive on the towns of Lyman and Siversk.

On the Sievierodonetsk, Avdiivka, Kurakhivka, Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia fronts, the invader was not actively engaged in combat operations. It applied fire to hinder the actions of our troops and destroy artillery units.

On the Pivdennyi Bug front the invader did not conduct active combat operations, held its lines, and reinforced air defence and electronic warfare systems. It shelled the positions of our troops. In the north of the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, Russian forces shelled the remaining settlements. The invaders conducted air reconnaissance around the settlements of Oleksandrivka, Serhiivka and Volodymyrivka.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces struck 14 Orlan UAVs and 1 aircraft.

11 attacks by Russian forces were repelled in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. 8 tanks, 11 armoured combat vehicles and 5 vehicles belonging to the invaders were destroyed.
