Russia has killed 261 children in Ukraine, 17 children found dead in Mariupol

Prosecutors have recorded the deaths of 17 more children in the city of Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast, bringing the number of Ukrainian children killed by the Russian military to 261.

Quote from the Prosecutor General’s Office: "As of the morning of 2 June, more than 721 children have been injured in Ukraine as a result of full-scale armed aggression by the Russian Federation. According to official information from prosecutors of crimes against juveniles, 261 children have been killed and more than 460 wounded.

These numbers are not final, as work is underway to confirm them in places of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories."

Details: It is reported that most children were injured in Donetsk Oblast (184), Kyiv Oblast (116), Kharkiv Oblast (112), Chernihiv Oblast (68), Luhansk Oblast (52), Kherson Oblast (52), Mykolaiv Oblast (47), Zaporizhzhia Oblast (29), Sumy Oblast (17), Zhytomyr (15) Oblast and the city of Kyiv (16).

On 31 May, a 12-year-old boy died in Ivanivka, Izium district, Kharkiv Oblast as a result of shelling by the occupiers of the village. 

In addition, as criminal violations were being recorded, the deaths of 17 and the injuries of 14 children due to shelling by the invaders of Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast have come to light. As a result of constant bombing and shelling by Russian forces of Ukrainian cities and villages, 1,938 educational institutions have been damaged, 182 of which have been completely destroyed.
