Ukrainian Armed Forces stop Russian advance on Lysychansk’s southern outskirts – General Staff report

The Armed Forces of Ukraine stopped the advance of Russian troops on the southern outskirts of Lysychansk. Russian forces press ahead in Sievierodonetsk, where fighting continues.

Details: On the Sloviansk front, Russian occupying forces are firing on civilian infrastructure in and around Bohorodychne, Adamivka, Dibrivne, Kurulka, Petrivske, Virnopillia, and Mazanivka with tube artillery and multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). Ukrainian troops repelled a Russian assault near Dolyna and Bohorodychne and forced the occupying forces to retreat.
On the Donetsk front, Russian forces continued to fire on units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces along the entire line of contact with tube and rocket artillery, mortars, and tanks. Their main efforts are focused on the Sievierodonetsk and Bakhmut fronts, where they are attempting to establish full control over the cities of Sievierodonetsk and Mykolaivka. Russian troops are consolidating their positions near Loskutivka and Rai-Oleksandrivka, which they have recently captured. Russian forces are taking measures to replenish their losses.
Russia did not undertake active combat operations on the Kramatorsk front.
On the Sievierodonetsk front, Russian occupying forces opened fire with tanks, mortars, tube and rocket artillery in the area around Syrotyne, Lysychansk, Sievierodonetsk, Voronove, and Myrna Dolyna.
Units of the 2nd Army Corps supported by units of the Russian Guard are conducting assault operations in order to establish full control over Sievierodonetsk. Fighting continues.
The General Staff reports that the Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped the advance of Russian forces on the southern outskirts of Lysychansk; Ukrainian troops inflicted significant losses on Russian forces and forced them to retreat.
Russia is deploying reservists in order to replenish its losses. Ukrainian defenders repelled Russian assault operations near Borivske.
Russian forces conducted reconnaissance-in-force near the village of Bila Hora and continued to advance near Rai-Oleksandrivka, where fighting continued.
On the Bakhmut front, Russian troops deployed artillery of various calibres to fire on Ukrainian troops’ positions near Mykolaivka, Berestove, Klynove, Toretsk, Novoluhanske, Pokrovske, Luhanske, and Kodema. Russian combat aircraft conducted an airstrike near Klynove.
The General Staff reports that Russian occupying forces are trying to capture the city of Hirske. Assault units from the 1st Army Corps captured Mykolaivka. Russians’ attempt to conduct reconnaissance-in-force near Vershyna was unsuccessful.
Likewise, Russian attempts to pin down Ukrainian units near Klynove failed.
On the Novopavlivka front, Russian troops fired on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with tanks and artillery near Pavlivka, Vuhledar, and Prechystivka. Russian aircraft conducted airstrikes near Pavlivka, Vuhledar, and Shevchenko. Ukrainian troops repelled the occupiers near Shevchenko and forced them to retreat.
Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups conducted reconnaissance operations in the area around Vremivka, Novosilky, and Neskuchne in order to establish weaknesses in Ukrainian defence. Ukrainian soldiers were able to discover these groups and inflict significant losses on them, ultimately forcing them to retreat.
Russia did not undertake active combat operations on the Avdiivka, Kurakhove, and Zaporizhzhia fronts. Russian forces fired on the positions of Ukrainian troops with tanks, mortars, tube and rocket artillery near Avdiivka, Pisky, Opytne, Mariinka, Hrushove, and Novopole in order to prevent Ukrainian reserve troops from being deployed to other, more active, fronts.
Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled a Russian attempt to advance on Mariinka.
There were no active hostilities on the Pivdennyi Buh front, but Russian troops fired on civilian infrastructure in and around Dobrianka, Mykolaivka, and Trudoliubivka with tube and rocket artillery.
Russian aircraft conducted an airstrike on the positions of Ukrainian troops near Kniazivka. Russia used drones to conduct aerial reconnaissance in order to determine how the positions of Ukrainian Armed Forces have changed and to adjust fire accordingly.
General Staff reports no evidence of the formation of Russian assault groups on the Volyn and Polissia fronts.
On the Sivershchyna front, Russian forces continued to reinforce the cover of the Russian-Ukrainian border and opened fire on civilian infrastructure in and around Ukrainian villages of Stari Vyrky, Atynske, and Starykove.
On the Kharkiv front, Russian troops deployed artillery to fire on civilian and military infrastructure in and around Kharkiv, Ruska Lozova, Pechenihy, Khrestyshche, Mospanove, Staryi Saltiv, Ruski Tyshky, and Pryshyb.
Russian ships in the waters of Black and Azov seas are attempting to create favourable conditions for the operations of Russian ground forces. Five high-precision naval missile carriers are at the ready to conduct missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine.
