In the Kharkiv region, the occupiers are destroying Ukrainian books.

Even fairy tales and illustrated books with almost no text are subject to "disposal".

"There is a battle with Ukrainian textbooks and literature going on in the occupied territories.

Reportedly, school libraries of the neighbouring Kupiansk district have already received an order from the occupying administration to compile a register of all the books published after 1991 that they have in their possession, and to dispose of them," state the local authorities.

The occupiers are also planning to introduce their own educational programmes in the new academic year, for which they promise to bring textbooks from the schools of Krasnodar Krai (Territory) in Russia.

They’ve already used such tactics in the Donetsk region.

Specifically, in June, the Russians started "denazifying" the libraries in Mariupol.
