"We are looking forward to a very good conference today. I am pleased to welcome two of my colleagues and good friends – Secretary of Defence [UK] Ben Wallace and the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov. Together with 23 of our colleagues, we will look at what ways we can find to strengthen our assistance to Ukraine," said their host, Danish Defence Minister Morten Bødskov, before the start of the conference.

Delegations consist of ministers of defence, their deputies or other high-ranking representatives.

In his evening video message [on 10 August], President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that on 11 August, a conference of defence ministers of Ukraine's partners would begin in Copenhagen, where further support for Ukraine, including weapons, would be discussed.

Recently, the Ministry of Defence of Denmark announced that it would join the UK-led initiative to train the Ukrainian military.

A training programme for Ukrainian military personnel in Britain was offered to Volodymyr Zelenskyy by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson during his June visit to Kyiv.
