At the Kalanchak railway station in Kherson Oblast, the occupiers planned to unload train cars with military equipment and ammunition under a smoke screen. Shortly after setting up the smoke screen, an explosion rang out at the unloading site, and the rail convoy began to move in the direction of occupied Crimea.

Quote: "In order to mask the unloading process and protect against HIMARS strikes, the occupiers used powerful smoke. At approximately 11:20, an explosion rang out in the work area. It was impossible to determine its source accurately, due to a dense smoke screen. However, immediately after the explosion, the rail convoy began without any warning to move in the direction of Crimea. The enemy personnel scattered in panic."

Details: Intelligence suggests that the explosion could have been the result of careless handling of ammunition during unloading, or of a fire caused by the inept use of pyrotechnical devices during the creation of a smoke screen.

On the night of 29-30 July, the Armed Forces of Ukraine had struck a Russian military train that had arrived at the Brylivka station. The train consisted of more than 40 wagons with manpower, equipment and ammunition.
