Details: Reports indicate that Saldo is to be transported on a special chartered aircraft from Crimea to a clinic in Moscow due to the deterioration of his health.

He is currently in a critical condition. His doctors suspect that he might have been poisoned. Alternatively, he might have suffered a stroke.

Background:

  • On 4 August, Saldo said that he was going to hospital and was therefore delegating his "authority" to his "acting executive", Sergei Yeliseyev.
  • In July, Russian occupation "authorities" in Kherson Oblast claimed that they had prevented an attempt on Saldo’s life.
