Russia is launching missiles on Kyiv: Zelenskyy addresses Ukrainian people from near President’s Office

ALONA MAZURENKO – MONDAY, 10 OCTOBER 2022, 11:12

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the people of Ukraine from near the building of the Presidential Office in central Kyiv and urged them to remain in shelters on 10 October as, throughout the course of the morning, Russia had already launched nearly 100 missiles and attacked the country with Iranian-made drones.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "The morning is tough. We are dealing with terrorists. Dozens of missiles, Iraninan-made Shahed [drones]. They have two targets.

Energy facilities throughout the country. In Kyiv and Khmelnytskyi Oblasts, in Lviv and Dnipro, in Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy Oblast, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr and Kirovohrad Oblasts, the south of the country.

They want [to sow] panic and chaos, they want to destroy our energy system. They are [hopeless].

The second target is people. They have deliberately chosen the time and the targets [of their attacks] to inflict as much damage as possible. But. We are Ukrainians.

We help each other. We believe in ourselves. We restore everything [that has been] destroyed.

We might experience temporary power outages, but there will never be an outage of our confidence – our confidence in victory.

Why these attacks in particular? The enemy wants us to be afraid, wants to make people run. But we can only run forward, and we are demonstrating this on the battlefield. It will continue to be so.

Rescue workers are at work now. Our air defence is activated. As of now, 38 targets have already been shot down."

Details: President Zelenskyy called on Ukrainians to remain in shelters and heed safety rules on 10 October: "And always remember: Ukraine existed before this enemy appeared, and Ukraine will exist after it."
