Russian occupiers dismantle roads and canals to build fortifications in Melitopol

In the temporarily occupied territories of the south of Ukraine, Russian invaders are blocking and converting roads and irrigation canals into fortified military defence structures with concrete slabs in the occupied Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Details: RIA Melitopol reports that the Russians are transporting construction materials to Melitopol on a daily basis. Many of the concrete slabs are delivered from Henichesk district of Kherson Oblast, where roads and irrigation channels are being dismantled in the village of Solokohirne.

The news outlet also reports that in the villages of Melitopol district, the occupiers seek out local men, who are then placed into forced labour to build these fortifications.

RIA Melitopol prints advertisements for "a well-paid job". In the advertisement, the invaders offer an 80,000 rouble [monthly] salary [roughly US$1,300]; however, they do not specify that the work will be to dig trenches and construct fortifications.
