President of Ukraine decorates intelligence officer who raised Ukrainian flag in Snihurivka

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to intelligence officer, sergeant Andrii Orlov.

Details: Zelenskyy said that he had presented state awards and decorations to servicemen during a trip to Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts on 14 November.

Quote: "The title of Hero of Ukraine was awarded to intelligence officer, sergeant Andrii Orlov. Back in September, he displayed extraordinary bravery and effectiveness during battles in Kherson Oblast. He was wounded, recovered and got back to the contact line. 

And on 10 November, he took part in the liberation of Snihurivka, as part of a reconnaissance unit. It was he who raised the Ukrainian flag over the district administration building."

More details: The President announced that while visiting Kherson, he had presented 36 Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi and Orders for Courage and handed three more orders to wounded soldiers.

One of the decorated servicemen is Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, 1st class.

"In September, he became the commander of the Kherson operational-strategic grouping of troops, and we can see the result," Zelenskyy said.

Previously: On 10 November, the Armed Forces of Ukraine took control of the city of Snihurivka in Mykolaiv Oblast. It had been under Russian occupation since 18 March.
