Zelenskyy: Thousands of Points of invincibility prepared for prolonged power outage

More than 4,000 "Points of Invincibility" have been set up in Ukraine. They will be activated in the event of a prolonged power outage due to any future massive Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.

If massive Russian strikes take place again and if there is an understanding that the electricity supply cannot be restored within hours, the work of ‘Points of Invincibility’ will be activated - all basic services will be there, including electricity, mobile communications and the Internet, heat, water, and a first-aid kit. Absolutely free and 24/7."

Details: Zelenskyy emphasised that these points will definitely work at all oblast and district administrations, as well as at schools, buildings of the State Emergency Service, and so on.

A special website, nezlamnist.gov.ua, with a map of these points throughout the country is already available. It is being constantly updated.

On the website and in all "Points of Invincibility" people will be able to find out where the nearest gas station, bank, pharmacy and grocery store are operating.

Zelenskyy emphasised that local authorities are tasked with informing people about the "Points of Invincibility". Government buildings, pharmacies, shops and post offices should have information on where to find support in the event of a long-term power outage.

The President said that businesses were joining this initiative and they are making their premises into "Points of Invincibility" - with generators, Starlinks, water and other things. The website nezlamnist.gov.ua provides a form for entrepreneurs who wish to join the initiative.

Background:

  • On November 1, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced that Kyiv is preparing to deploy about 1,000 heating points for the city's residents for the event of emergency situations this winter.
  • The Kyiv City Council posted photos of such points and reported that they were equipped with heat, lighting, bathrooms, dining rooms, rest areas and supplies of warm clothes and blankets. Visitors to the points will be able to access the news and current information about the city, as well as psychological support.
  • On 18 November, the first "Points of Invincibility" with heat, electricity, food and Internet access appeared in the liberated city of Kherson.
