Quote: "Since February, 184 athletes have died due to Russia’s actions. You cannot try to remain neutral while the foundations of peaceful life are being destroyed and universal human values are being ignored."

More details: Zelenskyy stated that the silence of athletes, coaches and functionaries contributes to the aggression, and Russia uses sport as means of propaganda.

He said he believed that a fair response to such actions would be only a total isolation of the terrorist state on the international arena. It specifically concerns international sporting events.

In addition to this, Zelenskyy stressed the support of Ukrainian athletes and the Ukrainian Olympic movement, and called upon the IOC to take steps towards repairing the sports infrastructure of Ukraine, which was destroyed by Russia.
