Ukraine needs 2 billion cubic metres of gas and electricity worth EUR€800 million – Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Ukraine needs two billion cubic metres of gas and electricity worth EUR€800 million

"We need support in the purchase of the volume of gas that is used to compensate for the damage caused by Russian strikes at other types of generation. It is about two billion cubic metres of gas," the president said.

The president also noted that Ukraine needs support with the supply of electricity.

"Just as we can help you by exporting electricity when we get our generation back up, we need your help now to get us through this winter. It is about the supply of electricity worth about EUR€800 million," Zelenskyy added.

As the president states, any blackouts in Ukraine are blows to European social systems due to new waves of migration.

"Therefore, I urge you to continue doing everything so that we can maintain the energy supply for Ukrainians. And I am grateful to each and every one of you who are already helping with the supply of equipment and financial support," the head of state summarised.
