No power in 90% of Lviv due to Russian attacks

Ninety per cent of Lviv has been left without electricity due to Russian missile attacks on Thursday morning [29 December].

"Ninety per cent of the city is without electricity. We are waiting for additional information from power engineers," Sadovyi wrote.

The city mayor added that trams and trolleybuses are not running in the city.

"There may be interruptions in the water supply. We are switching to diesel generator operation at critical infrastructure facilities," Sadovyi said.

• Russian forces attacked Ukraine with drones on the night of 28-29 December, and with cruise missiles on the morning of 29 December – air defence forces may be operating throughout the territory of Ukraine.
• DTEK [the largest private energy company in Ukraine – ed.] implemented emergency power outages in the Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts due to the threat of Russian missile strikes, Zhytomyroblenergo and Sumyoblenergo [energy companies in Zhytomyr and Sumy oblasts - ed.] also reported emergency blackouts.
• In Kyiv on Thursday, 29 December, power and water supply interruptions are possible due to another massive missile attack on critical infrastructure targets.
• On Thursday morning, the metro has been stopped due to another massive Russian missile attack in Kharkiv.
