Civilian targets in Korosten, Zhytomyr Oblast suffer from Russian attacks – General Staff

Russian forces attacked Korosten in Zhytomyr Oblast, a number of settlements in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, as well as the city of Kurakhove in Donetsk Oblast on the 287th day of the Russian full-scale war against Ukraine..

Details: Earlier, Vitalii Bunechko, Head of Zhytomyr Oblast Military Administration, reported that on the night of 7 December, the Russians have tried to attack Zhytomyr Oblast with an Iranian-made Shahed-136 kamikaze drone, but soldiers of the 115th Territorial Defence Brigade shot down the drone in the north of the oblast, tracking the target from the border. There were neither casualties nor injuries reported at the crash site.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also reports that Ukrainian defenders have shot down an Iranian-made Shahed-136 kamikaze drone. (According to the authorities, eight drones were shot down in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on the evening of 6 December).

The Ukrainian Air Force conducted 11 strikes on the clusters of military personnel, weapons and equipment, as well as a strike on the positions of Russia's anti-aircraft missile systems.

Rocket Forces and Artillery units from the Ukrainian Defence Forces struck three control points, 2 clusters of personnel, an area of artillery concentration and 2 storage points belonging to the Russian army on 7 December.

The General Staff also reports about the situation on different fronts in general.

There were no significant changes on the Volyn and Polissia fronts, with no signs of the forming of offensive hostile groups being detected. Russian units keep being deployed and trained in the polygons of Belarus.

On the Slobozhanshchyna front, Russia continue to keep its troops in the border areas of Belgorod Oblast. Russian forces deployed tanks, mortars, and tubed artillery to fire on areas in and around the vicinities of Strilecha, Ternova, Starytsia, Vovchanski Khutory and Chuhunivka in Kharkiv Oblast

On the Kupiansk front, the Russians are on the defensive. They used artillery to fire on Dvorichna, Kotliarivka, Tabaivka and Berestove in Kharkiv Oblast, and Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk Oblast.

On the Lyman front, the Russian forces deployed tanks and artillery to fire on areas in and around the vicinity of Makiivka, Ploshchanka and Nevske in Luhansk Oblast, and Terny and Lyman in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts, the invaders are focusing their main efforts on conducting offensive operations. They deployed tanks, mortars, tubed and rocket artillery to fire on areas in and around vicinities of Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Zalizne, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast

On the Novopavlivka front, the Russians are on the defensive. They used artillery and mortars to attack the areas of Vuhledar, Bohoiavlenka, Prechystivka and Zolota Nyva in Donetsk oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhia front, the Russian forces inflicted fire damage near Vremivka and Novopole of Donetsk Oblast and Dorozhnianka, Huliaipole and Zaliznychne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

On the Kherson front, the Russians are on the defensive. Over 10 settlements came under artillery fire, in particular Osokorivka, Zolota Balka, and Dudchany of Kherson Oblast and the outskirts of the city of Kherson.
