Details: Wallace emphasised that the UK has not yet committed to supplying Ukraine with Western-made fighter jets.

"What it [the UK] has said is we're going to start training to improve the resilience of Ukraine, probably post-conflict, which is no different from what we were doing in 2015 where Britain, Sweden, Canada, America were training the Ukrainians to form their defence. That's not new," he said.

"All of us on this platform know that over the last year, we shouldn't rule anything in and we shouldn't rule anything out," added the UK's defence secretary.

Background: Earlier, Ben Wallace ruled out the possibility of quickly providing fighter jets to Ukraine, which could potentially take months. He noted that instead, the UK is focused on using alternative air defence support for Ukraine.

The day before, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak confirmed that London is ready to consider providing Ukraine with fighter jets, and the decision to train pilots is actually the first step towards this.
