14-year-old Ukrainian karting player wins title of European champion for first time

14-year-old racer Oleksandr Bondarev has become the first Ukrainian in the history of karting to win the title of European champion.

Details: The final round of the European Championship for the title of the winner was held this weekend at the Cremona Circuit track in Italy.

81 karting players from different parts of the world took part in the OK Junior category, in which Bondarev performs.

On Friday, Bondarev initially failed in the qualification, coming 29th in the overall ranking. However, he won back 22 positions and entered the top five, which earned him a good starting position for a Super Hit.

In the final round, Bondarev started with P4; on the sixth lap he managed to overtake the opponent and take P3, and finished in this position.

Background: On 20 July, Oleksandr Bondarev topped the updated FIA International Karting Ranking (IKR).
