Russians attack Sumy Oblast, almost 270 explosions in one day

Russian forces carried out 39 attacks on settlements in Sumy Oblast on 24 August, with 269 explosions recorded.

Details: The Russians fired mortars (15 explosions) and artillery (18 explosions) on Krasnopillia hromada. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a town, village or several villages and their adjacent territories – ed.]

There was a mortar attack on Velyka Pysarivka hromada (30 explosions).

Fire from mortars (33 explosions), artillery (14 explosions), AGS grenade launchers (32 explosions), SPG guns (4 explosions) and tanks (2 explosions) was recorded in Bilopillia hromada. A Russian helicopter also fired rockets (four explosions).

In Esman hromada, the Russians used a helicopter to fire rockets (4 explosions), artillery (10 explosions) and mortars (10 explosions).

The Russians attacked Khotin hromada with artillery (6 explosions) and mortars (11 explosions). They also deployed grenade launchers and dropped VOG grenades (one explosion).

MLRS (23 explosions) and mortar attacks (12 explosions) were recorded in Shalyhyne hromada.

Mortar attacks (three explosions) were recorded in Znob-Novhorodske hromada.

The Russians hit Seredyna-Buda hromada using artillery (9 explosions), mortars (2 explosions) and AGS grenade launchers (20 explosions).

A mortar attack (six explosions) was carried out on Druzhba hromada.

There were no casualties or damage to civilian infrastructure.
