The number of casualties has risen to 24 following Russia’s strike on the Social Protection Department building in Pokrovsk, Donetsk Oblast, on the morning of 13 October.

Quote: "[Russian] occupation forces attacked central Pokrovsk at 08:30 on 13 October 2023. As of 17:00, one man has been found dead as a result of the attack, and another 23 sustained injuries of varying severity.

Updated at 20:32: The Prosecutor’s Office added that as of 20:00 the number of injured rose to 24.

Background: 

  • The Russian army attacked the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast on the morning of 13 October, destroying two office buildings, killing at least one person. Earlier reports suggested 14 people were injured in the attack.
  • The Donetsk Oblast Police has released a video of the first minutes after the morning attack on the Social Protection Department building in Pokrovsk.
