Ukrainian and Russian forces clashed over 100 times over past day – General Staff report

Over 100 combat clashes between Ukrainian and Russian forces have taken place in the past 24 hours. The Russians maliciously launched a missile strike on a school in Kostiantynivka, Donetsk Oblast. The building of the educational institution was almost completely destroyed.

Details: In total, the Russians launched 9 missile strikes and 39 airstrikes, and fired multiple-launch rocket systems on the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements 50 times.

As a result of the Russian terrorist attacks, there are casualties among the civilian population. A school, apartment and private residential buildings, as well as other civil infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Last night, the Russian occupiers launched another missile and air attack on Ukraine, using Kh-59 guided air missiles, Iskander-K cruise missiles and Shahed-136/131 type UAVs. Information regarding the aftermath of this terrorist attack is currently being established.

Luhansk Oblast, Donetsk Oblast, Kherson Oblast were hit by airstrikes.

About 110 settlements of Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts came under Russian artillery fire.

On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, Russian forces are maintaining their military presence in the border areas, undertaking sabotage activities to prevent Ukrainian troops from being deployed to vulnerable areas, and increasing the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border in Belgorod Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia Operational Strategic Group on the Kupiansk front, Ukrainian defenders repelled over 20 Russian attacks near Synkivka and Ivanivka in Kharkiv Oblast, and over 5 attacks near Nadiia in Luhansk Oblast.

On the Lyman front, Ukraine’s Defence Forces prevented the loss of their positions near Nevelske in Luhansk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut front, Ukrainian troops repelled all Russian attacks near Bohdanivka and Khromove. Also, Russian forces attempted to regain their lost ground near Klishchiivka in Donetsk Oblast but failed. Ukraine’s Defence Forces continue their assault operations south of Bakhmut in Donetsk Oblast, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian forces and consolidating their positions.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavriia Operational Strategic Group on the Avdiivka front, Russian forces keep trying to encircle Avdiivka, but Ukraine’s defenders are steadfastly holding the defence, inflicting significant losses on the Russian forces. Russian offensive actions near Novokalynove, Stepove, and Pervomaiske in Donetsk Oblast proved unsuccessful.

On the Marinka front, Russian forces conducted unsuccessful assault actions with air support in the area of Marinka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast, where Ukraine’s Defence Forces repelled 20 attacks. 

On the Shakhtarsk front, Ukrainian soldiers repelled the attacks of the Russian invaders near Zolota Nyva, Staromaiorske and Rivnopil in Donetsk Oblast. 

On the Zaporizhzhia front, Russian forces conducted unsuccessful assault actions near the settlement of Poltavka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Also, the Russians unsuccessfully tried to regain their lost position in the area of Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa Operational Strategic Group on the Kherson front, Ukraine’s Defence Forces are conducting counter-battery operations, hitting the Russians’ rear.

Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Air Force conducted eight strikes on areas where Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated and four strikes on anti-aircraft missile systems.

Ukraine's Rocket Forces and Artillery struck one command post, one ammunition storage point, three clusters of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment, and an electronic warfare station.
