Quote from Gylfadóttir: "Russia's war of choice against Ukraine is not a "dispute" or a "conflict" – it has no moral or legal justification. It is a war for territorial conquest in complete violation of international law and the UN Charter," Gylfadóttir said.

Background:

  • Zbigniew Rau, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, after the attack, emphasised that Russia must be stopped as soon as possible and kept accountable.
  • At the same time, Ben Wallace, Former UK Defence Secretary, has called on Germany to unblock the supply of Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine.
  • On 5 October, the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) officially joined the joint investigative team (JIT) investigating international crimes committed in Ukraine.
