The Czech government has allocated $10 million to strengthen Kharkiv Oblast's medical sector.

Details: Syniehubov said the funds will be used to buy equipment for several of the oblast's healthcare institutions, including Kharkiv City Outpatient Clinic No. 10, the Hospital of Ukraine's General Directorate of National Police in Kharkiv Oblast and hospitals in Chuhuiv and Balakliia.

Additional funds will be allocated for seven modular boiler houses, which will heat residential buildings and critical infrastructure facilities in the oblast's hromadas [a hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.].

Syniehubov noted that the support project was designed for three years and also thanked the Czech government for its assistance to Ukraine and the strong support for Kharkiv Oblast.

Background:

  • Earlier, Czech President Petr Pavel called for continued support for Ukraine even though, as he said, it has become an irritating factor for some.
  • Prior to that, Czechia announced the allocation of €2.5 million to the Ukraine-NATO trust fund for non-military aid.
  • Petr Pavel criticised the insufficient supply of military equipment to Ukraine and the non-fulfilment of promises already given.
