East bank of Kherson Oblast to be cleared of mines by end of 2025

The liberated right (east) bank of Kherson Oblast is planned to be cleared of mines by the end of 2025.

Quote: "In August, people said that mine clearance would take 10 years. Now, with the help of the State Emergency Service, the police, and the Armed Forces, we will clear the right bank of mines by the end of the following year, 2025," Prokudin said.

He said that 1,100 bomb disposal experts are currently working in the region and have already cleared 245,000 hectares.

Previously:

  • Ukraine and Slovakia reached an agreement on the joint production of engineering equipment for mine clearance and provision of ready-made machines for detecting and disposing of mines.
  • The DOK-ING MV-4 light mine clearance vehicle, built and partially localised in Ukraine, was tested on the training grounds. The certification process will be conducted after the tests.
