Explosions heard in occupied Crimea, oil depot on fire – photos, videos

Explosions were heard in several parts of Russian-occupied Crimea on the night of 5-6 October.

Details: Initially, Krymskyi Veter claimed that the Saky air base had been attacked.
Later, multiple explosions were reported in the Simferopol district. It was also said that warning sirens had gone off at military units in Sevastopol.
After that, social media posts mentioned explosions in Yevpatoriia and Feodosiia and near the Kacha air base.
Updated: At around 02:00, posts claimed that an oil depot in Feodosiia had been attacked.
Subsequently, photos of a fire at the oil terminal in Feodosiia were posted on social media.



Background:
- It was previously reported that the oil depot in the port of occupied Feodosiia in Crimea which was successfully attacked by Ukrainian defence forces had been equipped with a Pantsir-S1 air defence system since the autumn of 2022.
- On 7 October 2024, a drone attack caused a fire at the oil depot in temporarily occupied Feodosiia and a state of emergency at municipal level was declared in the city.
- The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed a strike on the Russian oil terminal in Feodosiia.
