Almost 70% of Americans support US military assistance to Ukraine and increased sanctions pressure on Russia, with support among Republicans even higher.
Source: results of a Harvard CAPS/Harris poll, data collected in the first days of October from over 2,400 registered voters, as reported by European Pravda
Details: When asked whether Trump's administration should continue supplying weapons to Ukraine and impose additional sanctions on Russia if the Kremlin avoids talks, 68% answered yes, while 32% said it should not in order to avoid conflict with Russia.
Support for providing weapons and sanctions was even one percentage point higher among Republicans than among Democrats.

A total of 79% agreed that Europe should stop buying Russian energy and instead purchase it from the US, with support among Republicans 10 percentage points higher.
On a separate question about additional US economic sanctions against Russia, 77% supported them, with Republican support 15 percentage points higher.
Fifty-seven per cent approved of higher tariffs or other penalties for third countries that continue buying Russian oil and gas.

Background:
- In an August poll, 46% per cent of Americans said that the US was not doing enough to support Ukraine, which was the highest level in the past three years.
- The poll also showed that two-thirds of Americans are pessimistic about the prospects of a peace agreement between Kyiv and Moscow to end the full-scale aggression waged by Russia.
- In a March poll, at the beginning of Trump's second term, just over half said the US should provide military assistance to Ukraine, with support among Republicans significantly lower.
