Emergency power outage schedules have been introduced in Sumy Oblast, while several districts in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast have been left without electricity. Residents of Zaporizhzhia are being urged to save gas and traffic across the Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) dam has been suspended. These are the consequences of a large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine on the night of 9-10 October.

Quote from Sumyoblenergo: "Emergency power outage schedules have been implemented in Sumy Oblast at the instruction of Ukrenergo. They apply to 10 groups of consumers. The reason for the outages is the effects of the Russian attack on the energy sector."

Details: Sumyoblenergo noted that emergency outage schedules are introduced only in critical situations, so their duration cannot be predicted.

Emergency power cut schedules have also been introduced in Poltava Oblast.

Quote from Volodymur Kohut: "An energy infrastructure facility has been damaged in the Kremenchuk district as a result of falling debris and direct hits. A total of 16,578 residential properties and 800 business consumers have been left without electricity. In this regard, emergency and special outage schedules have been introduced in the oblast."

Details: He added that power engineers are already working to restore power.

Houses in Poltava Oblast were also damaged in the attack.

DTEK Dnipro Electric Networks reported that due to a local network failure, electricity is temporarily unavailable in parts of the city of Samar and in the Samar, Pavlohrad and Synelnykove districts.

"Specialist personnel are already working to deal with the damage and restore the power supply," the statement said.

Fedorov noted that the Russians had attacked energy infrastructure facilities across the country.

"The Dnipro HPP dam in Zaporizhzhia is currently temporarily closed to traffic as a precautionary measure. Movement will be resumed as soon as the security situation allows," he wrote.

Zaporizhzhiagaz reported that due to damage to gas infrastructure caused by the Russian attack, it is extremely important to temporarily limit the use of natural gas.

"Please use gas appliances as little as possible until emergency repair work is completed. This is necessary to stabilise pressure in the network and avoid disconnections. We ask residents and businesses to treat the situation with understanding. Information about the restoration of a stable gas supply will be provided later," the company urged.

Background: Parts of Kyiv were left without electricity and water supply due to the Russian attack.
