Drones operated by the Security Service of Ukraine's Special Operations Centre Alpha struck Russian military sites and infrastructure facilities in temporarily occupied Crimea on the night of 28-29 October.

Details: The source said that the Russians have lost a Pantsir-S2 surface-to-air missile system worth about US$20 million. This system is one of the key components of Russian air defences. In addition, two Russian radar stations were also destroyed.

The SSU's Alpha drones also hit an oil depot in the settlement of Hvardiiske where fuel was stored. A large fire broke out at the facility, and a huge pillar of black smoke was seen rising from it. Another drone strike was recorded at the Komsolmolsk oil depot.

Quote: "The SSU continues its systematic work to destroy air defence systems protecting Crimea and oil depots supplying fuel to the Russians. Each such special operation reduces the enemy's military and logistical capacity. There will be more 'cotton' to come." [Russian propaganda, initially refusing to use the word 'vzryv' (explosion), used 'khlopok' (a bang) instead. However, 'khlopok' also means 'cotton', and this has since become a meme – ed.]
